As with “Painted Stars #1” I planned to use the light of the setting full moon to illuminate the landscape in a long exposure, with the early morning twilight starting to lighten the sky to the east while the stars above still dominate the sky. To the eye, the stars at this time were still the “main attraction” - it’s only with a longer exposure that the camera is able to resolve details in the landscape that our eyes would still be unable to see in the dark.
